Build Your own platform scale for Weighing Tractors. Our kit includes all the weighing components that you would need. You just need to supply the platform and the labor. This kit is based on the typical platform that folks try to build which is usually 9' x 5' or 9' x 6' approximately.
You would need to build the platform and any ramps you might need. Please note, most smaller scale platforms only use four load cells. However, with most scales designed to weigh tractors being close to 10 feet long, we include the extra two load cells to support the longer platform length. This way, you can place a load cell in each corner of the scale and one on each side of the scale. This way, the entire perimeter of the platform would have a load cell and foot. Typical maximum capacity that customers choose when setting up the system is usually either: 10,000 x 2 lb, 15,000 x 5 lb, or 20,000 x 5 lb.
The build your own tractor weighing platform scale kit includes the following: (1) LCD Weight Indicator, (1) Interface Cable, (1) 6 Cell Junction Box with Summing Board, (6) 5K(LE) Load Cells, (6) Mounting Hardware, and (6) Leveling Feet.
This weighing kit consists of everything you need to build your own scale (except the platform). Good quality weighing components with an affordable price tag. Please keep in mind the picture above is an example of what you're getting. With this product you are actually receiving (6) load cells and enough accessories to install that number of cells.
For comparison sake, if you were to buy a large platform scale for weighing tractors, the cost could be well over $5000. And, that's based on a 72" x 96" (6x8) size floor scale. When you choose platform scales larger than that, it can sometimes lead to larger freight charges due to the size of the platform versus the size of the LTL truck.
These numbers above are another example of how it's sometimes better to buy the components and build the scale yourself. It will take some labor and materials but you could save thousands of dollars!
